Attended an Electric Earth Concert here, terrific acoustics.

The Dublin Community Church was listed along with others under the Dublin Village Historic District in 1983.

Just next to Yankee Publishing you'll find this Church, or Third Meetinghouse. It was built to succeed the two earlier meetinghouses of 1771 and 1818, the latter of which was a fine Federal structure in the Wren tradition, built high on Dublin hill. The 1818 meetinghouse was taken down because of fierce winter winds off Dublin lake, and after many years of controversy over the choice of a new site, the town voted to move the old tavern house at the town center and build this third meetinghouse where it sat. Certain architectural features from the 1818 Second Meetinghouse appear to have been used in this building, among them the front 12/12 windows, the 2 Ionic columns, and some cabinet work in the vestry, including the Federal-period, delicately molded, raised-panel pew doors. After its dedication, March 3, 1853, it was immediately put to use, not only for ecclesiastical purposes (it was then Unitarian), but as the site of annual Town Meetings. Painted white with green shutters, it is a "classic" New England Colonial church in monumental temple form, and its exterior is virtually unchanged since its construction, and serves as a symbol of the Town—its chief "post-card" identity.
